As a counsellor, I support children, young adults, adults and families as they navigate life’s challenges. I provide a safe, compassionate, and professional space where every individual feels listened to, respected, and understood. My work is grounded in the belief that early support and strong family connections are key to building resilience and fostering lasting emotional well-being.
I work collaboratively with children, adolescents, and their families to explore difficulties, strengthen relationships, and develop practical strategies for positive change. My aim is to empower each person I work with—helping young people build confidence and self-belief, supporting parents in understanding their child’s needs, and equipping families with the tools they need to move forward with hope, stability, and a stronger sense of connection.
As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I work with children, adolescents, young adults and adults, often between the ages of 11 and 25, helping them navigate the challenges that so often shape these formative years. Alongside my training in CBT and DBT, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet each young person where they are, recognising that every journey is unique and deserves to be respected.
I understand how overwhelming it can feel for young people particularly those with ASD, ADHD, or high-functioning anxiety to stay connected with their authentic selves while managing the pressures of school, friendships, and growing independence. Many of the young people I work with have also experienced bullying or social isolation, which can leave them feeling disconnected, unheard, or uncertain about who they are. In my work, I aim to provide a safe and compassionate space where they can begin to rediscover their sense of identity and build confidence in their ability to face life’s challenges.
I also recognise that supporting a young person means working alongside their family. Parents often tell me they struggle to understand their child’s behaviour especially when it comes out through anger, withdrawal, or overwhelming emotions. Part of my role is to bridge that gap by helping parents see the deeper needs behind these expressions and develop ways of fostering stronger, more supportive connections at home.
My areas of work are wide-ranging, from self-esteem and confidence-building to anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, and identity exploration. I also work with more complex challenges, including borderline personality disorder, PTSD, and the impact of childhood trauma. In every case, I tailor my approach to the individual, drawing on therapies such as CBT, DBT, compassion-focused work, problem-solving strategies, and practices that encourage daily reflection, gratitude, and self-care.
My professional background has deeply shaped the way I practise. At the Sexual Assault Referral Centre, I supported individuals in the immediate aftermath of trauma, which strengthened my understanding of PTSD, grief, and resilience. My time at Autism Wessex as a residential support worker taught me the importance of seeing beyond behaviours to the unmet needs and voices beneath them. These experiences continually remind me that every child and young person has a story worth listening to and a voice that deserves to be heard.
Above all, I approach my work with empathy, patience, and respect. My goal is not only to support young people in their healing but also to empower them to build resilience, strengthen their sense of self, and move forward with hope. I believe that with the right support, every child and family can discover new possibilities for growth, connection, and well-being—and it is a privilege to walk alongside them on that journey.
I am committed to continuous professional development, actively engaging with current research and specialised training to ensure I provide the highest standard of support to the children, young adults, adults and families I work with.

What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?
Both are talking therapies that address personal issues but differ in their depth and focus. Counselling often addresses specific problems or life changes in the short term some people build these sessions in as part of their lives as a way of improving their mental health and well-being.
People seek counselling for many reasons including anxiety, depression, trauma, navigating relationship difficulties experience in life transitions grief/bereavement or addiction. Additionally, some seek counselling for personal growth, building life confidence or addressing specific behaviours they wish to change.
People seek psychotherapy for similar reasons but this might involve more in-depth work to raise awareness in understanding patterns of behaviour. It will usually take place over a longer period.
Psychotherapy can help people develop healthier coping strategies, delving deeper into unconscious patterns and past experiences, and will look at the impact on current thoughts and feelings. Psychotherapy explores unconscious drives, childhood experiences, and their influence on current life challenges.
